What a great morning for racing! And the guys came out in force to challenge each other in the Team Time Trial. City CC fielded a total of 6 teams in an event that saw the top 4 spots closely contested. Before this took place, we had a small field of individual riders take on the 30km flattish route, with Jaco Binneman taking the win in a time of 44:13.062 – giving an average speed around 40kph.
The ladies were off next, also doing 30km, and the newly formed Paceline Ladies Team took the honours from Kinetic Pro Ladies. Well done ladies – we hope to see you on the start line for the rest of the events to come.
Finally the 60k mens and mixed team race got under way. And what a race that was. The top 4 teams were split by just over 2 minutes, and one must feel sorry for Kirmack Racing who were pipped by 4 seconds into 4th place by the youngsters from the UCI Team 1.
